Today, Mrs. Fox’s kindergarten class celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day with a special surprise! 🍎✨ A friend donated some fun activities and snacks for students to enjoy while exploring their five senses.
Students used their sense of taste and smell to try applesauce and sour apple gummies! Then, they used their sense of touch to play "pin the worm on the apple." 🐛🍏
Finally, students used their senses of sight and hearing to listen to a story about Johnny Appleseed. What a fantastic day of learning and fun in kindergarten! 🎉
Our OES Kindergarteners are on an exciting journey to learn about their five senses! On Friday, each class experimented using their senses in different ways. 👀👂👃👅🤚
Miss. Katko's class embarked on a taste adventure with mints, Mrs. Fox's crew dived into the realm of touch, Mrs. Eveland's class got creative with shaving cream, and Mrs. Lemke's group dived into the world of apples to explore all five senses!

On September 5, our library got a dino-mite makeover! 🌟 Over the summer, students from George Daily Auditorium's Dino Daze theater camp designed, created, and performed with life-sized dinosaur puppets. One of these incredible puppets, Rainbow Raptor, has officially found a new forever home in the OES library! 🌈🦖

Meet Kyle, our amazing 4th grader who's setting a shining example of kindness and responsibility every single day! 🚌💫
Kyle's bus driver shared that before the bus arrives at the stop, Kyle takes it upon himself to pick up any trash in the bus stop area, without anyone asking him to do so. Kyle makes sure to put all the trash he finds in the garbage can on the bus. 🗑️🚌
What a fantastic display of character and responsibility! We couldn't be prouder of Kyle for showing what it truly means to have OSKY PRIDE! Keep up the great job! 🌟

Last night, Oskaloosa Elementary hosted our Kindergarten & Kinder-Prep Parent Orientation! 🎉 Attendees learned about the daily school schedule, food service, medical forms, picked up their Driveline tags, and much more.
We’re excited to start the 2023-24 school year and extend a warm welcome to our young learners and their families to OES! ❤️
