Spring Sports Athletes: be sure to sign up using the google email that OMS athletic director Jodi Steinlage just sent out. Check your emails!
OMS Girls 7th & 8th grade Track Season will begin Tuesday. Practice will be at OMS after school and will conclude at 5pm. PARENTS - there will be a brief meeting Tuesday at OMS at 4:45. (Per Coach Legvold and Coach Erickson on Team Reach). *TeamReach code is: Oskymstrack1
OHS Spring Play information: Mark your calendars for the Spring Play, The Mouse That Roared! Join us on March 27th and 28th, 2026 at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30 PM, so come early and grab a good seat! Tickets are just $6 for general admission, and you won’t want to miss this hilarious comedy brought to life by our talented cast and crew. For more information, check out the posters hanging in the hallway.
OMS After School Clubs information:
Monday: Robotics Club 3:30 - 4:30 plus Cheer Club (every Monday in March) Monday: Track and Field Club March 23 and 30, 3:30 - 4:30
Tuesday: Cooking Club 3:30 - 4:30 (March 24 and 31)
Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30 Fellowship of Christian Athletes club - gym (March 25 & April 1)
Thursday: Art Club and Style Club March 26 and April 2
Friday: Book Club Members meet right after school each Friday
Commons vending machines: new information that has been shared with us is that our vending machines have to be in the OFF position ½ hour before and ½ hour after school begins and ends. This means BOTH machines will NOT be working between 7:30 AM and 4pm daily. Plan accordingly with your morning and after school snacks!
Check out the district’s APP and website and look for the VIRTUAL BACKPACK! It’s filled with camp information for all ages, all year long and is a great resource for our district families 24/7.
Cell phone policy: Hey Oskaloosa Middle School students, This year, the Iowa Legislature passed a new law (HF 782) that changes how personal devices can be used during the school day at every school in the state of Iowa.Here’s the bottom line:
No personal devices (phones, smartwatches, earbuds) during class time, passing time, or lunch.
You CAN use your Chromebook for schoolwork.
If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken to the office.
Put devices away, turned off, in locker during the school day.

Monday, March 30: Parent/Teacher Conferences 4:00 - 7:30 PM. All teachers will be available for brief 5-10 minute meetings. Come and go as you please, at a time that works best for you! OMS FUN NIGHT - we’ll also be hosting fun night for our OMS students from 4:30 - 6:30 PM.. with activities for OMS STUDENTS ONLY - in our gyms, cafeteria, fine arts wing/elective win

April 2 - 8th grade and 9th grade Co-Curricular Fair, hosted and held at OHS cafeteria from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. This will be an opportunity to see and hear about all the things OHS has to offer students such as activities, club and athletics. There will be 42 booths and tables to visit!
