💛 Kindness in Action! 💛
Our First Grade Kindness Club and Student Council Kindness Committee helped lead a schoolwide food drive, and our amazing OES students and families showed up big!
Just look at that truckload — together, we collected 1,124 food items to support the Oskaloosa Ecumenical Cupboard right here in our own community.
A special shoutout goes to Mrs. Hersom’s kindergarten class for donating 63 items all on their own! 👏
We are so proud of our students for showing what it means to love, inspire, and empower others through kindness!

70 members of the Oskaloosa Student Council attended the Iowa Student Leadership Conference at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, on October 26 & 27. At this conference, they networked with 1,500 other students and advisors from across the state, learned about the state project “Click Carefully, Connect Confidently,” and attended breakout sessions that enhanced their leadership skills and gave them valuable information to bring back to our Oskaloosa Student Council.
The highlight of the conference was the keynote speaker, Heather Schultz, from Georgia, who taught the students not to fear trying new things and how to step out of their comfort zones.
Oskaloosa students, Kim Terpstra and Jonah DeVore, both IA StuCo State Officers, were #ALLIN, helping to lead the conference. Gabby Stropes, an IA Stuco district officer, also met with the Southeast District to help lead cheers and chants. #OskyBuildsLeaders

Last week, Oskaloosa Schools' libraries went on a shopping spree at Book Vault! 📚
Thanks to the success of our Spring Book Fair through Book Vault, nearly $4,000 was raised to support our school libraries. When families shop at our book fair, it benefits not only our students but also our local businesses and community.
We appreciate your support! 🫶
