Show your #OskyPride and help us congratulate these three individuals on their recent awards from the Mahaska Chamber! 🏆 2023 Educator of the Year 🏆 Jason Maddy, Student Success Coach, Oskaloosa Middle School  Jason joined Oskaloosa Schools in 2007 as a history teacher. Because of his ability to develop relationships to ensure student success in the classroom and in life, he transitioned to Student Success Coach in 2018. In his role, Jason provides integrated social, emotional, and academic support to students who have a rough go in school or life. Congratulations Jason! 🏆 2023 Student of the Year 🏆 Addison McKain, Oskaloosa High School Addison will graduate from OHS in May 2024. During her high school career, she has maintained a lofty GPA and is on track to acquire nearly 30 college credits prior to graduation. In addition, Addison is involved in volleyball, softball, student council, and Youth for Christ. She has represented Oskaloosa as an IHSAA Boys State Basketball Tournament Ambassador for the last 3 years. Congratulations Addison! 🏆 2023 Business Person of the Year 🏆 Matt Sherlock, PGA Professional Edmunson & Harvest Point Golf Courses Matt has been in the golf business his entire working life and has been a Class A PGA member for the last 12 years. Today, as a successful PGA Pro, Matt runs the 9-hole Harvest Point Golf Course and the 18-hole Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa. Outside of golf, Matt has volunteered within Oskaloosa Schools, most recently being elected to the OCSD School Board. Congratulations Matt! The Oskaloosa Schools has named Sarah McGriff as the district’s new director of finance, effective February 26. McGriff brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her new role. Most recently serving as an accountant for the City of Ottumwa, she also held the position of business manager/board secretary at the North Mahaska CSD from 2020 to 2023. “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Oskaloosa Schools,” McGriff said. “The district has a wonderful story to tell of their dedication to student success and wellbeing, and I look forward to being a part of that from within the business office.” Read more: www.oskyschools.org/article/1461968

The Oskaloosa High School and Middle School invites you to the 2nd Trimester Choir Concert on February 20! There will be over 100 students participating in the concert at 7pm in the George Daily Auditorium. Admission is FREE, but there will be a chance for you to show support with a free will donation. Your generosity, big or small, helps us continue to provide exceptional music education experiences for our students. Our students have dedicated many hours to preparing for this concert, and we can't wait to share their hard work and talent with you. See you there!

⚾️ SAVE THE DATE ⚾️ The OHS baseball team is proud to announce their upcoming opportunity to showcase their talent at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, dubbed "Swing for the Arch," is scheduled to take place on June 8, 2024. The entire Oskaloosa community is invited to come out and support the Indians. Fans can expect an exhilarating day of baseball, highlighted by the opportunity to witness the next generation of stars compete at Busch Stadium.
