This might seem like a small act, but it has a huge impact on campus safety! 🏫❤️
Zoey, your quick thinking and willingness to engage with an adult you didn't know truly exemplify what it means to be a responsible and caring member of our community. Let's give Zoey a big round of applause for her outstanding efforts! 🎉👏

DRILL: Oskaloosa Middle School students and staff successfully completed a lockdown drill today. These drills play a vital role in equipping both students and staff with the necessary skills to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies, ensuring their preparedness in the event of potential threats or crises. The drill provided an opportunity for students and staff to practice their response strategies and receive valuable input from emergency personnel and law enforcement.
A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the dedicated officers of the Mahaska County Sheriff's office and the Mahaska County Emergency Management Director, who joined us and actively participated in this exercise. Their professionalism and expertise were invaluable in helping us refine our safety protocols and procedures.
“This is the third time we’ve done this drill, and each time, the students get better and better,” says Mahaska County Sheriff Russ VanRenterghen. “It’s obvious the new teachers have been trained very well. The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office is always happy to assist with safety initiatives, as nothing is more precious than the well-being of our students.”
Thanks to the cooperation of our amazing students and staff, we now stand better prepared than ever. #ALLIN
