At Oskaloosa Middle School, lunchtime competition hit a whole new level today. Principal Mr. Gingerich jumped into an intense game of four square, while Assistant Principal Mr. Edwards took to the field for a spirited round of football with students.

Now, depending on who you askโ€ฆ
๐Ÿซ Administration says they won.
๐Ÿ™ƒ Students also say they won.

We may never know the real champion, but we do know this โ€” it was a lunchtime filled with laughs, great sportsmanship, and a whole lot of bragging rights on both sides.

Last week, creativity and drama took center stage in our 7th and 8th grade writing classrooms! ๐ŸŽญ
โœจ 7th graders brought famous figures like Caitlin Clark, Tom Brady, Albert Einstein, and Benjamin Franklin to life through their inspiring โ€œI Amโ€ฆโ€ speeches.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ To wrap up October, 8th graders dove into the eerie world of Edgar Allan Poeโ€”exploring The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Black Catโ€”and showcased their understanding with stunning one-pager poster projects!

๐ŸŽƒ It was a busy and exciting week for our 6th graders at OMS! Students showed off their creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills through a variety of hands-on learning experiences:

๐ŸŒŽ In Social Studies, they presented their โ€œRegions in a Boxโ€ projects, showcasing their knowledge of geography and regional characteristics through creative, three-dimensional displays.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ In Language Arts, they brought their โ€œTwo-Sentence Horror Storiesโ€ to life in a Wax Museum formatโ€”mixing writing, performance, and just the right amount of spooky fun!

๐Ÿ“š And in Reading, they participated in OMS Fear Factor, an interactive challenge designed to help them practice identifying plot, theme, and comparing and contrasting skillsโ€”all while having a blast learning together!
Weโ€™re so proud of our students for their effort, energy, and enthusiasm last week!
